2012 marks a year of change, diversity, and wonder. What is going to happen? Where do we go from here & what will manifest? We live in a time of no guarantees and fast paced lifestyles. Because of this, we need a sense of consistency, security, and support to become the independent creators that today’s world demands. How do we really gain more opportunities, and avenues to pursue them?
Creative Music Services invites you to the first Sacramento Valley, “State of the Music Industry Forum”, to be held on Saturday, March 24, 2012, from 1-4 pm, hosted at Sanctuary Recording Productions in Sacramento. It will features 3 focus panels interacting with attendees, sharing commentary and creating bridges to build a platform for the valley’s diverse music talent and industry.
Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in a “red carpet” filmed interview by giving a quote on what they feel should be done to build the music community. The focus panels will field questions from the audience on hot issues that affect musicians and bands, recording studios, music businesses and educators as they comment on what the future holds for music craft and industry.
In a time where doing your own thing is accepted and encouraged, we want to explore what it means to be an “indie” or independent, while still being able to collaborate with and support other local talent. The event will be free; however we will accept goodwill donations to support the cause.
