Music Review: Mimi Page ~ Breathe Me In

Mimi Page ~ Breathe Me In

Mimi Page (http://www.mimipage.com), a multi-talented, singer, songwriter and film composer has released her first full-length LP titled, ‘Breathe Me In’ containing twelve enticing, trance-like and melodic tunes wrapped around Page’s haunting, yet sensual vocals that keep you fixated with each song you hear. Co-produced by Warren Huart (The Fray, Aerosmith) and released through Hunter Records, this album provides a variety of songs to showcase her unique style of singing and songwriting which is sure to please any fan of Electronica Pop.

Based out of Los Angeles, Mimi Page’s vocals have been compared to artists such as Portishead, Enya and Fiona Apple. Her ballads, ‘New’ and ‘Jigsaw’ draw you in with her heart-felt lyrics and the piano keys echo the loneliness expressed, making you feel as though Page is singing to an audience of one. Songs like ‘Color Blind’ with its strong, progressive beats, and demanding lyrics or the title track, ‘Breathe Me In’ which fuses an ethereal sound and addictive tones, with Samisen-like guitar chords are what give this album such a distinct sound.

Incidentally, the success of her single, ‘This Fire’ which went viral and debuted on MTV’s “The Real World” placed her at number 11 on iTunes electronic charts and number 1 on Amazon.com for “Best Electronic Single.”  Not only is Mimi Page involved with scoring independent films, her songs have been remixed by some of the top producers in electronic music, including Bassnectar, Phrenik, Minnesota, Omega, and Shotgun Radio.
